    We built an AI feature for our own site. It's still off.

    When a brief arrives on this site, an AI model could read it and draft the first reply. The code is written, tested and merged. It's off, and it stays off until it passes its evals. This is why, and what passing means.

    Our site took up to 25 seconds to load. About $20 a month fixed it.

    After a few minutes without visits, the first page of farcholabs.com took between 11 and 25 seconds to load. We never saw it, because we always reached a warm server. The load balancer's logs did. This is what we measured, what caused it and what fixed it.
